Eagle Pass Building Permits Go Through Planning

Inside the City of Eagle Pass, building work starts with city permitting, not the county courthouse. The city's residential building permit application is a Planning Department form, and it asks for the job address, MCAD property ID, legal description, property owner, contractor, and trade work.

The application also lists common inspection steps, including foundation, framing, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, insulation, gas, sewer tap, curb cut, and final inspections when they apply.

Before work starts, confirm whether the project is inside city limits and whether a city permit is needed. For property outside Eagle Pass, Maverick County lists its own Planning Department and Building Inspector in the county directory.
