Downtown El Paso Has a Texas Arts District

Downtown El Paso's arts district is not just a nickname. The Texas Commission on the Arts designated it as a cultural district in 2011.

The close-together part is the charm. Third Thursday partners include the El Paso Museum of Art, El Paso Museum of History, the Mexican American Cultural Center, the Main Library, La Nube, the Market EP, and more.

The district is useful because it stacks choices. A family can pair a museum stop with a library event. A visitor can find a market, public art, and food without moving the car again.

That cluster makes downtown feel different from a single museum trip. You can come for an exhibit, a library stop, a market, a festival, or a walk through Cleveland Square and still be in the same pocket.
