Disabled parking placards are a Smith County Tax Office service

A disabled parking placard comes through the same county tax office that renews your registration. It is one of the motor vehicle services county offices handle for the state, right next to titles and tags.

Use Form VTR-214 for a disabled parking placard or plate. A doctor or other health care provider has to complete the disability statement before the tax office can use it.

Smith County has the main tax office in Tyler, with substations in Noonday, Lindale, and Troup. Not every counter handles every service. Call the office you plan to visit before you make the drive.
