Deer Hunting in Jefferson County Has Antler Restrictions

Jefferson County is in the TPWD North Deer Zone. The combined season bag limit is four deer: no more than two bucks and no more than two antlerless. Of the two bucks you can take, only one may have an inside antler spread of 13 inches or greater. A legal buck must have either an unbranched antler or meet the 13-inch minimum.

Seasons for 2025-2026 include an archery-only period in late September and October, a general season from November through early January, and late youth and muzzleloader seasons in January. Alligator season runs for about three weeks in September with a bag limit of one per valid CITES tag. Always check the TPWD Outdoor Annual at tpwd.texas.gov for the current season dates and rules before heading out.
