Rail Trail
The A-train Rail Trail links Denton and Lewisville
The DCTA A-train Rail Trail is a roughly 19-mile paved path that runs alongside the A-train commuter rail line, from the Downtown Denton Transit Center south to the Hebron station in Lewisville. Several rail stations sit right along it.
Because it parallels the train, you can ride or walk one direction and take the A-train back, which makes longer one-way trips practical instead of an out-and-back slog. It is a way to move through the county's chain of cities without every outdoor trip being a lake or park visit.
It also shows the shape of Denton County's growth, with rail, trails, apartments, and job centers increasingly built together. Check the city and DCTA maps for current access points and station hours.
