Two addresses split Houston County's clerk, court, and tax errands
Houston County splits common errands between two nearby addresses in Crockett. Records and court work usually begin at the courthouse, 401 E. Houston Avenue. Taxes, elections, and several county administrators are in the annex at 401 E. Goliad Avenue. Naming the office matters because the wrong building can still look like the right county complex.
At the courthouse, the County Clerk is in Suite D and the District Clerk is in Suite E. County Court at Law is upstairs in Suite H. As checked July 29, 2026, public entry was through the west-side basement door. Go under the stairs through the accessible entrance, then use the stairs or elevator to reach the clerk offices.
At the annex, the Tax Office is in Suite 101, Elections is in Suite 102, and the Treasurer is in Suite 104. The County Judge is upstairs in Suite 201, commissioners are in Suite 202, and the Auditor is in Suite 204.
Call ahead for Veterans Services because its suite needs confirmation. Use the same rule for any office not named here: call 936-544-3255, say what you need to file or collect, and confirm both the building and suite before driving over.
