Cedar Brake Park Puts Old Cedar Shade in Montgomery

Cedar Brake Park takes its name from the stand of century-old cedars on the grounds, five acres of them right in the heart of the old town of Montgomery, on the western side of the county.

Under that canopy you'll find walking paths, benches, a pavilion, public restrooms, playground features, a volleyball court, a fountain, statues, and the usual picnic comforts.

It's the kind of place that keeps a small town from being just a dot on the map. The cedars, the public art, a turn on the playground, and a quick downtown errand can all fold into one stop, and the pavilion is reservable through the city if you want to hold a corner of that shade for a gathering.
