Many Denton County businesses owe a personal property rendition
Business personal property means the gear a business uses to make money. That can include equipment, furniture, stock, computers, fixtures, and tools. Texas taxes that property. Denton CAD expects the owner to file a yearly rendition and runs an online portal for it.
A rendition is separate from a sales-tax permit, DBA, city occupancy certificate, or lease. A small shop, office, yard, salon, or home-based business can owe one if it has taxable gear or stock on January 1.
Late filing or the wrong form can mean penalties and higher values that are harder to fix after notices go out. Denton CAD's forms page is the place to start each spring.
