Greenbelt Trail
The Greenbelt links Ray Roberts Dam toward Lake Lewisville
The Greenbelt Corridor is a 20-mile multi-use trail that follows the Elm Fork branch of the Trinity River, running from below Ray Roberts Dam down to the headwaters of Lake Lewisville. It offers about 12 miles for horseback riders and 10 miles for cyclists and hikers along a shady river bottom.
Texas Parks and Wildlife operates the corridor, and hunting and firearms are not allowed on it, so it stays a quiet walking and riding route. It is the green thread that ties the county's two big lake systems together by land and water.
This is a defining piece of Denton County's outdoors. Check trail status before you head out, since river-bottom trails can flood or close after storms.
