Texas Porch
Panhandle / High Plains

Texline, Texas

Texline occupies the extreme northwestern corner of the Texas Panhandle in Dallam County, at the far edge of the High Plains near the state's border. The land here is high, flat, and open, shortgrass prairie given over to wheat, grain, and grazing cattle. The town grew up as a railroad point on this stretch of the plains, and it lies about 106 miles northwest of Amarillo.

Property here runs through the Dallam Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Dallam County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
