Paint Rock, Texas

Paint Rock stands on the Concho River in the ranching country of Concho County, about 30 miles east of San Angelo in west-central Texas. The town takes its name from the Painted Rocks, a long limestone bluff just north of the river bearing hundreds of Native American pictographs, one of the most extensive rock-art sites in the state.
