Leander, Texas

Leander is a fast-growing city on the northern edge of the Austin metropolitan area, about 22 miles north of Austin where the blackland prairie meets the eastern Hill Country. The city straddles Williamson and Travis counties along the U.S. 183 corridor. It serves as the northern terminus of Capital Metro's commuter rail line into downtown Austin, and much of its growth has come from suburban expansion north of Austin.

Property here runs through the Travis Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Travis County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
