Granite Shoals, Texas

Granite Shoals is a city in Burnet County, in the Hill Country northwest of Austin, about 43 miles from the city. It lies along Lake Lyndon B. Johnson, one of the Highland Lakes formed by dams on the Colorado River, and much of the community is oriented toward the water. The surrounding terrain is rocky, cedar-covered hills studded with the pink granite outcrops that give the area its name.

Property here runs through the Burnet Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Burnet County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
