Brazoria, Texas

Brazoria is a city in Brazoria County on the upper Gulf Coast, about 39 miles southwest of Pearland, set on the flat coastal plain along the lower Brazos River not far inland from the coast. The town was one of the early settlements of Stephen F. Austin's colony and figured in the events of the Texas Revolution, giving it a place in the state's early Anglo-American history. The surrounding country is low, level farmland and coastal prairie.

Property here runs through the Brazoria Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Brazoria County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
