Woodlawn Lake Park Still Works as a West Side Gathering Place

Woodlawn Lake Park is one of those San Antonio places that works for many kinds of days. The City of San Antonio says that after more than 100 years, the lake remains a gathering spot for visitors from across the city.

The official park page lists daily walking-trail use, fishing from the boat dock, a swimming pool, tennis courts, outdoor fitness stations, playgrounds, public art, and rentable pavilions. The trail around the lake runs 1.48 miles.

That mix makes Woodlawn Lake more than a neighborhood park. It is a west-side civic room: a morning walk, fishing and family time later, and a place the city gathers for big public events like the Fourth of July.
