Bee County Registration Changed in 2025

Texas changed the rule on January 1, 2025. A typical noncommercial car registered in Bee County no longer needs a safety inspection before registration. Bee is not on the state's list of 17 emissions counties. That means the same car does not need an emissions test here. Commercial vehicles still need a passing safety inspection.

You can renew a regular registration online, by mail, or in person. For an in-person renewal, bring the notice and proof of current liability insurance. The Bee County Tax Office handles renewals and title transfers. It can also update a vehicle address, issue disabled parking placards, and provide other title and registration services.

The office is at 411 E. Houston Street in Beeville. Check its availability before making the drive. Local hours and payment options can change. If you just moved to Texas, TxDMV gives you 30 days to register. The agency directs new residents to the local county tax office.
