First, take your vehicle to a licensed Texas inspection station for an emissions test. Once it passes, you can renew your registration online at txdmv.gov, by mail, or in person at the Dallas County Tax Office at 500 Elm Street, Suite 3300.

Your renewal month stays the same every year — it is fixed from when the vehicle was first registered. After you renew, a new registration sticker goes on your windshield.
