The Trinity River regularly floods parts of Liberty County

Flood risk follows the Trinity River through the middle of Liberty County before the river bends toward Trinity Bay. For a house, camp, or raw tract near that low ground, start with FEMA's Flood Map Service Center. Its Flood Insurance Rate Maps show the official flood zone for an address.

Zone A or AE can mean a lender-required flood policy, but the map should not be your last question. Look up the address, then ask about old high-water marks, road access during storms, and whether the driveway or culvert floods before the house does. That conversation belongs early, while inspection week still has room.
