Tornadoes are a real seasonal threat in Rockwall County

The National Weather Service office in Fort Worth tracks tornado history for Rockwall County back to 1880. Spring months, particularly April and May, see the most tornado activity in North Texas. Late afternoon and early evening are the peak hours. Nighttime tornadoes do happen too.
