Spearman kept its Rocket Slide

The Rocket Slide survived. Spearman's city parks cover nearly 40 acres. Modern playground equipment shares the system with historic original pieces, including the Rocket Slide. New equipment arrived without erasing every older landmark.

Windmill Park adds a half-mile lighted walking trail. Other names carry their purpose plainly: Palo Duro Skate Park, Swimming Pool Park, Walking Park, and Rocket Slide Park. The contrast is in the equipment itself: modern play structures are here, and the Rocket Slide is still part of Spearman's vocabulary.
