Renew Your Registration at a Collin County Grocery Counter

A clean Collin County renewal notice can save a Tax Office trip. Some Kroger and Tom Thumb counters renew vehicle registration. So do other offsite counters. The choices get store-specific, such as Kroger #488 on West University in McKinney and Tom Thumb #579 on West McDermott Drive in Allen.

Those counters handle renewal work. They do not fix title work or new-resident setup. At a grocery store, bring the current renewal form. The notice must show the return mail address for Scott Grigg, Collin County Tax Office. If it says "New Plates Required," go to the Tax Office.

Expired tags get a short grace period. A subcontractor can help no later than five county workdays into that grace period. If insurance, emissions, plates, or title work is not settled, take the papers to the county office.
