Cross Bar Hunts Use a Separate Drawing

An Annual Public Hunting Permit is not a pass to every piece of land that looks public. It works only at the units, dates, and activities listed in the current TPWD booklet or map. A hunting license and any needed stamps are separate.

The Limited Public Use Permit covers non-hunting trips only where a listed unit allows them. It does not allow hunting, guns, or archery gear on those lands.

For 2026-27, TPWD lists Potter County's Cross Bar Management Area in its drawn-hunt catalog. Those hunts need their own application and deadline. They are not regular APH walk-in hunts. Read the current hunt page and map because borders, dates, and hunts can change each season.
