Who Handles Property Taxes in Tom Green County
The value on a Tom Green County tax bill starts at 2302 Pulliam St. in San Angelo. That is where the appraisal district handles values, exemption forms, and protests. The CAD also serves as a property-tax collection office. Even so, use the collector printed on the bill when checking a payment.
The county Tax Assessor-Collector at 113 W. Beauregard Ave. is a different desk. It handles vehicle titles and registration, but it does not collect property taxes. A tax-office sign over the door does not mean that office takes a house-tax payment.
Tom Green County has 14 active taxing units, but one property does not owe all 14 rates. A parcel is taxed only by the units whose boundaries cover it. Read the taxing-unit list on the CAD property record or tax statement, then use only those listed rates.
