Who handles property taxes in Culberson County

Start with the Culberson County Appraisal District. Its job is to put values on taxable property. The district also handles exemptions and special valuations. If your value looks wrong, or if you need a homestead form, that is the office to check first.

Tax rates are a different piece. Each local taxing authority sets its own rate and the amount of tax it will levy. In Culberson County, those taxing units include the county, Culberson-Allamore ISD, Van Horn, the groundwater district, and the hospital district.
