Nature Preserve

Oak Point Is Plano's Big Nature Preserve on Rowlett Creek

Oak Point Park and Nature Preserve is the largest park in Plano at 800 acres, spread across the east side of the city along Rowlett Creek. It is big enough that the trail network carries its own named segments rather than a single loop.

The City of Plano counts nearly eight miles of concrete trail and about five miles of soft-surface trail through the creek woods, open from sunrise to sunset. Together they give east Plano a stretch of bottomland forest, prairie, and water inside an otherwise built-out part of the county.

For residents, Oak Point is the kind of place that turns into a regular walk, run, or ride. Check the city page before visiting for maps, trail rules, event impacts, and current conditions.
