New Texas residents must register their vehicle within 30 days

After moving to Taylor County, register the vehicle in Texas within 30 days. The first registration must be done in person at a county tax office. It is not an online renewal. A new resident has 90 days to get a Texas driver license through DPS.

Bring proof of ownership, Texas insurance, a government ID, Form 130-U, and the fees and records that apply to the vehicle. The Taylor County tax office is at 400 Oak St., Suite 105, in Abilene. Read TxDMV's New to Texas list before the visit.
