Seven School Districts Share Tom Green County

Seven school districts reach into Tom Green County: Miles, Christoval, San Angelo, Water Valley, Wall, Grape Creek, and Veribest. The county line does not tell you which one appears on a particular parcel's tax record.

Use the appraisal-district record for the property itself. It shows the school district and other taxing units whose boundaries cover that tract. A nearby house, a San Angelo mailing address, or a seller's memory is not a substitute for the parcel record.

District lines can cross the county in ways that are hard to see from the road. Before a rural purchase, ask the title company or Tom Green CAD to match the legal description to the taxing-unit list.
