Monte Bella Gives West Brownsville a Beginner Bike Loop
Monte Bella Trails Park sits in the West Alton Gloor area of Brownsville, and its bike trail is what gives it an identity of its own. The city describes a 6.2-mile single-track loop that runs counter-clockwise and is friendly to beginner riders, while still sharing the space with walkers and runners.
Around the trail, the park keeps wooded areas, open green space, nature trails, picnic areas, a playground, and an outdoor fitness court — enough that a family can spend an afternoon there without everyone needing to ride.
Cameron County's outdoor life leans on beaches and birding, so a close-to-home dirt loop is a nice change of pace for west Brownsville. Check the city facility page for park rules and any trail notices before riding.
