Andy Bowie Park Anchors the North End of South Padre Island

Andy Bowie Park is Cameron County's beach park at the north end of South Padre Island. It sits across from the convention center, just before the developed strip gives way to open beach. The county runs it as Beach Access #2.

It is set up for a full beach day: surf-side pavilions, RV camping, rinse stations, showers, food and beach-gear concessions, parking, restrooms, and seasonal lifeguards. It is also the jump-off point for the long driveable beach that runs north from there.

Andy Bowie on the north and Isla Blanca on the south help bookend the county's piece of South Padre. They keep the island from feeling like one identical strip of sand.
