Midlothian is home to major cement and steel manufacturing
The limestone around Midlothian helped give the city its Cement Capital of Texas nickname. TXI began building a cement plant there in 1959. The city also lists Ash Grove, Holcim, and Gerdau as large industrial employers.
The fire department describes a busy response area: three cement plants, a steel mill, an LNG facility, pipelines, and hazardous-material tank farms. That is useful context, not a scare label. Midlothian is an industrial city as well as a growing suburb.
If a home is near the plants, search the address and facility names in TCEQ Records Online or Central Registry. That gives official permit and records context instead of rumor or a drive-by.
