The Medina River Greenway Links South Bexar Trailheads
The Medina River Greenway carries a second river story across south Bexar County. It runs 17 miles from the Medina River Natural Area toward a point south of Mission Espada, with trailheads along the way.
The route follows the Medina under cypress, oak, and pecan, then passes near Cassin Lake and Mitchell Lake. Mitchell Lake's wetlands are a well-known stop for migratory birds.
For the south side, this trail is a spine. You can ride one segment for an hour or string together a much longer day, away from the downtown River Walk crowd.
