Lake Waco Fishing Changes With the Season
Lake Waco holds largemouth and white bass, crappie, hybrid striped bass, and channel, blue, and flathead catfish. White bass move up the rivers from February through April. Channel catfish tend to pick up in spring and early summer, while larger blue catfish are often a winter target.
Public ramps around the lake have different operators, fees, and closure conditions. Check the live U.S. Army Corps of Engineers status table before towing a boat, then use TPWD's current Lake Waco page for fishing regulations and seasonal tips.
