Lake Pat Cleburne Is the City's Catfish Lake

Lake Pat Cleburne spreads across about 1,560 acres when full, southwest of town on the Nolan River. The City of Cleburne owns and operates it, and the water level changes with weather and use. TPWD describes the water as stained to murky, which suits the lake's catfish reputation.

When checked in July 2026, TPWD rated channel catfish excellent, with blue catfish, largemouth bass, and white bass rated good. Those ratings can change. Statewide fishing rules apply, and most anglers age 17 and older need a license with a freshwater endorsement unless an exemption fits. The city's park page carries construction and ramp updates, while TPWD keeps the public-access list.
