Guadalupe River State Park Is Not in Guadalupe County

This is an easy Texas map trap. Guadalupe River State Park is outside Guadalupe County, along the boundary of Comal and Kendall counties. Its four miles of river frontage are open for swimming, fishing, tubing, and canoeing. The park also has 13 miles of hike-and-bike trails, 85 water-and-electric campsites, and nine walk-in tent sites.

Honey Creek State Natural Area sits next door, but entry there is by registered guided hike. TPWD says the park often reaches capacity and recommends reservations for both camping and day use. The live park page carries alerts, trail conditions, river notes, fees, and booking.
