Wise County Deer Hunting Has a Specific Antler Rule

Wise County hunts on North Zone dates for white-tailed deer, and the bag is four deer total, no more than two bucks and no more than two antlerless. The one that catches people out is the antler restriction: of your two bucks, only one may carry an inside spread of 13 inches or more. The other has to be a different kind of legal buck, one with at least one unbranched antler, a spike, so a young eight-pointer just under that spread is off-limits.

Hunting the LBJ National Grasslands changes the math. On that U.S. Forest Service land, antlerless deer are fair game only during archery, the youth-only season, and a special four-day antlerless window, not the regular general season the way they'd be on your own place.
