Caldwell deer rules change with the license year

Caldwell County's deer rules are more specific than a statewide season calendar. TPWD's county page sets the annual bag limit, defines a legal buck under the county's antler restrictions, and identifies the periods when a hunting-license tag may be used for antlerless deer.

The posted page still covers the 2025-26 license year as of July 12, 2026. Do not use those dates or limits for the next season. Wait for TPWD to post the 2026-27 Caldwell page. Read it before buying tags or planning a hunt. Reporting can also depend on the animal, date, and tag program, so use that page instead of last year's rule from memory.
