Contraflow Is a Special Hurricane Route, Not the Daily Plan

Contraflow sends cars the other way in a lane so more traffic can move inland. An EvacuLane uses a wide shoulder as a travel lane. TxDOT has plans for I-10, I-45, US 290, and US 59. They are options for a major storm, not a promise that each route will open.

During an evacuation, follow signs, officers, and live orders. Study the Houston route map before storm season. Then use DriveTexas and county alerts when a storm comes. Never enter a reversed lane from a normal ramp.
