Comal County Has Burn Bans That Change With Conditions

Before lighting an outdoor fire in unincorporated Comal County, check the Fire Marshal's current status. Commissioners Court can place a burn ban when dry conditions make outdoor burning a public hazard, and the order can change with conditions.

A green 'burn ban off' notice is not blanket permission. The material and location still must fit TCEQ's allowable-burning rules. Weather matters too: the county's posted guidance says not to start when predicted surface wind is under 6 mph or over 23 mph during the burn period.
