Brazoria County Parks Offer 14 Miles of Public Beach and Boat Ramp Access

The county parks system runs from Gulf beach to river bottomland: 11 parks, 14 miles of sandy beach, 20 boat ramps, and two RV campgrounds. Fishing piers, paddling access, and forest trails fill in the spaces between. Each site has its own hours and rules, so the system map is a better starting point than one blanket promise about access.

Surfside Jetty County Park is a straightforward day stop beside the Freeport ship channel. Its paved jetty extends about six-tenths of a mile, with parking, restrooms, a playground, and fishing access. The county page calls the jetty popular for day and night fishing, but the posted park day-use hours still end at dusk.

Follett's Island Beach follows a different set of rules. No permit or fee is required to visit or camp there, but a vehicle driven on the beach must be street legal. Fire, camping, pet, and driving rules can differ by facility, so check the page for the place you actually plan to use.
