Agua Dulce Is a Local Home-Help Hub

Rural home help in El Paso County is not one broad map. One hub is the Agua Dulce Community Center. It is tied to the Colonia Self-Help Center program.

The service area is narrow. It names Agua Dulce Unit 1, Agua Dulce Unit 5, Dairyland, Horizon View Estates Unit 17, and Homestead Meadows South Unit 5. State housing money helps fund the work, so state rules shape what the county can offer.

If you are helping family with a rural home, that map can explain a lot. One subdivision may qualify for a mobile-home replacement or tool-lending program while a nearby one does not. That is not a judgment on the place. It is how the program is drawn.

Think of it as a service boundary, not a label for the people who live there. The map helps the county aim housing and community programs at the places named in the grant. It can also keep a buyer from assuming that the program follows every rural address.

The Agua Dulce center is the working front door. Along with the housing program, it has a tool library, a business center with computers and printing, and a community closet supported by donations.
