River Oaks, Texas

River Oaks is a small suburban city in Tarrant County, tucked just west of downtown Fort Worth inside Loop 820 on the northwest side of the metroplex. Only a few miles across, it is a compact residential community bounded by Fort Worth and served by the Castleberry school district. The town took its name from the oak trees along the West Fork of the Trinity River near the townsite.

Property here runs through the Tarrant Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Tarrant County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
