Palisades, Texas

Palisades is a small village in Randall County, about 11 miles south of Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle. It lies among the upper reaches of Palo Duro Canyon, where the Prairie Dog Town Fork of the Red River has cut colorful cliffs into the flat High Plains, and sits near the shore of Lake Tanglewood. The setting of red rock, cedar breaks, and canyon rim gives the village a rugged landscape unusual for the otherwise level Panhandle.

Property here runs through the Randall Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Randall County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
