Hubbard, Texas

Hubbard is a small city in Hill County, in the rolling farmland of the Blackland Prairie about 29 miles northeast of Waco. It is best known as the hometown of Tris Speaker, the Hall of Fame baseball player nicknamed the Grey Eagle, who was born there and buried in a local cemetery. A historical marker in town commemorates his ties to the community.

Property here runs through the Hill Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Hill County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
