Fairchilds, Texas

Fairchilds is a small village in Fort Bend County, on the flat coastal prairie of the Houston region about 15 miles south of Sugar Land. The surrounding land is low and open, given over largely to farming, pasture, and rural homesteads southwest of the Houston metropolitan area. It remains a rural community outside the denser suburban development that has spread across the northern and eastern parts of the county.

Property here runs through the Fort Bend Central Appraisal District and the county tax office — the homestead exemption, the appraisal cap, protests, and any MUD, PID, or special districts all sit at the parcel level. The Fort Bend County notes below cover the practical details, with the official county directory for the appraisal district and tax office.
