Lake Lavon Trail
Trinity Trail at Lavon Lake Is for Hiking and Horses
Lavon Lake is more than boat ramps and fishing. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers runs the Trinity Trail along its shoreline as a hiking and equestrian route stretching roughly 25 miles, and Collin County's parks page points to trailheads near Brockdale Park and East Fork Park by the lake, close to Lucas and Wylie.
The Corps says the trail is for equestrian and hiking use only, closes when it is wet, and requires groups of more than 25 riders to get a permit from the Lavon Lake Corps office. A volunteer association helps keep the long route maintained.
Before hauling a horse trailer or planning a long hike, check current trail conditions and the official Lake Lavon pages. Rain can close the trail for days, and individual lake parks may have their own access, parking, fee, or seasonal rules.
