Thirteen taxing units can appear on your tax bill

The Texas Comptroller's Uvalde County directory listed 13 active taxing units as of its January 30, 2025 update. The list includes the county, six school districts, two cities, and four special districts.

Your parcel usually does not pay all 13. It pays the units that cover that address. A home inside the City of Uvalde and Uvalde CISD will look different from rural land in another school district.

The Uvalde CAD tax-transparency page points owners to a parcel search that breaks taxes down by taxing unit. That is the better place to check the current adopted rates for a specific property.
