Two Offices Handle Your Property Taxes

At 1301 E. Sinton St. in Sinton, two doors sit side by side and do completely opposite jobs. Suite B is the San Patricio County Appraisal District. This is the office that puts a dollar value on your land and home, and it never takes a dime of payment. You can pull that value up yourself at sanpatcad.org without leaving the house.

Suite C, the next door over, is the Tax Assessor-Collector. That's where the bill gets printed and where your money actually goes.

Which door you want comes down to your gripe. If you think your home is appraised too high, that fight belongs at the appraisal district, where you file a protest. If you're tangled up over a payment, a due date, or a receipt that never showed, that's the tax office. The mix-up costs somebody a wasted trip every spring: they march into Suite B waving a tax bill, or into Suite C swearing their place isn't worth that much, and either way they get pointed next door. Read the suite letter on the door before you pull the handle and you'll save yourself the U-turn.
