Two offices handle your property tax in Leon County
Your property tax in Leon County passes through two different desks, both in Centerville and easy to mix up. The Leon Central Appraisal District, over on W. Saint Marys Street, decides what your land and house are worth. The Tax Assessor-Collector, a few blocks away on N. Cass Street, takes that value, prints the bill, and collects the money. One sets the number; the other cashes the check.
Knowing which is which saves you a wasted phone call. Think your value is too high? That's an argument with the appraisal district at 141 W. Saint Marys (903-536-2252, leoncad.org), and the collector can't touch the number. Got a question about your bill, a payment, or a due date? That's the tax office at 155 N. Cass (903-536-2543). Same town, two jobs, and the wrong office can only point you back across the square.
