Two different offices handle your property tax in Jasper County

In Texas, valuing property and collecting taxes are two separate jobs. The Jasper County Appraisal District (JCAD) sets the value of your property each January 1. Taxing units, such as the county, school district, and city, set their own rates. The Tax Assessor-Collector then applies those rates and sends your bill.

JCAD is at 137 N. Main St., Jasper, TX 75951 (phone: 409-384-2544, website: jaspercad.org). Contact JCAD if your property value seems wrong, or if you need to file or update an exemption. Contact the Tax Assessor-Collector at 271 E. Lamar St., Jasper (phone: 409-384-6896) to pay your bill or handle vehicle registration. Tax bills are typically mailed around October 1 and are due by January 31 of the next year. Check JCAD's website for current deadlines, since rules can change.
