Bexar County Property Taxes Come Due Before February
Bexar County's property tax clock can slip right past you if you moved during the year. The Tax Assessor-Collector's FAQ says taxes are due in October and must be paid by January 31; mailed payments must be postmarked on or before January 31 to be timely.
The county tax calendar gives the year-specific dates for statement mailings, half-payment deadlines, and the last day to pay without penalty and interest. Those dates can shift around weekends or holidays, so check the current calendar rather than reusing last year's reminder.
If your mortgage company escrows taxes, still verify the account before the deadline. The appraisal district handles value and exemptions, but the Bexar County Tax Office handles the bill, payments, receipts, and delinquent collections.
